Control of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Also Used For:
Sometimes used as add-on therapy with Metformin or insulin sensitizers

Warnings & interactions
Warnings:
Risk of hypoglycemia, especially in elderly or missed meals; may cause weight gain
Avoid If:
Type 1 DM, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), severe liver/kidney failure, sulfonylurea allergy
Interactions:
(1) Insulin/other antidiabetics → ↑ hypoglycemia risk (2) Beta-blockers → may mask hypoglycemia symptoms (3) Alcohol → unpredictable glucose effects (4) NSAIDs → may enhance hypoglycemic effect (5) Rifampicin → reduces effect (6) Fluconazole → increases drug levels
