Common side effects
Darkened Stools: Stools may appear black or greenish. This is normal and is simply unabsorbed iron leaving the body. Gastrointestinal Upset: Mild nausea, stomach cramps, or abdominal discomfort. Bowel Changes: Constipation is common with iron; however, some users may experience mild diarrhea. Metallic Taste: A brief lingering metallic taste in the mouth after swallowing the syrup.
