Ponstan Forte belongs to a group of medicines called Non-Steroidal AntiInflammatory Drugs (or NSAIDs). Mefenamic acid binds the prostaglandin synthetase receptors COX-1 and COX-2, inhibiting the action of prostaglandin synthetase.These medicines work by relieving pain and inflammation.
Some possible warning signs of some serious side effects that can occur during treatment with this medicine may include swelling of the face, fingers, feet, or lower legs, severe stomach pain, black, tarry stools, or vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds, unusual weight gain, yellow skin or eyes.
